Ford Uses New App To Improve Customer Experience

Ford is now utilizing an app called SHOWCASE to help dealership sales associates help their customers more efficiently then ever.  The app allows the associates is a fun, easy and interesting way to help buyers determine exactly the kind of car they would like, and what features they would like the car to have.

“Waiting for the sales consultant to check the inventory or wandering the aisles of a car lot in search of just the right combination of colors and options can be a tedious and time-consuming process,” Michelle Moody, Cross Vehicle Marketing manager for Ford, told media. “In early 2011 we decided to take advantage of the portable technology that became available with the launch of the iPad to facilitate an improved purchase experience for our customers.”

Now, sales associates can sit with their customers who, with the touch of the display screen, can create a car with the trim level, color and features of their choice.

2012 Ford Focus Electric, NASCAR’s First Electric Pace Car

2012 Focus Electric will make history as NASCAR’s first ever all-electric pace car.  The event will take place on April 28th 2012 during the Sprint Cup Richmond 400 at the Richmond International Speedway.  Prior to the race, the  Focus Electric pace car will be unveiled for the public at the Virginia State Capitol in Richmond on April 25. Before the race event, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling will deliver the Focus Electric to the Richmond International Raceway.

Mark Fields, president of Ford North America, told media, “Highlighting the Focus Electric as a pace car is a fun way to educate consumers about the kinds of benefits our electrified vehicles deliver and show people our commitment to provide Ford customers the power of choice for leading fuel economy in the vehicle that best meets their needs; from EcoBoost-powered gasoline vehicles and hybrids to plug-in hybrids and full electrics.”
